PINNACLE (9.4mm)
The Pinnacle range has now transitioned to a new highly durable 9.4mm rope that still handles as well as the previous version. The PFC/PFAS free sheath of this rope has the same slick handling that you have come to expect from our Pinnacle line. All of the new pinnacles come in our "ready climb" coil in a mix of 2x Dry, STD Dry, regular pattern with middle mark and bi-pattern. For colors, we've retained the popular Yellow Jacket and updated the Blue Ocean design (note: some fiber in this rope is not yet PFC-free but will be soon). Additionally, we have introduced a new color, Community, which was designed by our MAXIM climbing community in an online contest last year. The new 9.4mm Pinnacle construction will replace the existing 9.4 and 9.5mm ropes as of the public launch date.
The well-known MAXIM Pinnacle is a lightweight 9.5mm rope designed to meet the needs of today’s sport climber. Just recently, MAXIM added a 9.4mm model for the European market to the range. Both rope models are light enough for redpointing, but still have the legendary durability for which MAXIM is known. Pinnacle is also an option for the trad climber who wants to climb longer pitches without adding weight or sacrificing durability and abrasion resistance. The Pinnacle ropes have a feel to them that is like no other climbing rope on the planet!
All Pinnacle ropes have an Endura DRY-treated core. Some versions are 2x-DRY meaning that we coat the sheath as well. These models meet the UIAA Dry standard, making Pinnacle a good choice for a lightweight single ice rope as well.
The sheath of the Pinnacle series features our Twill Pattern technology (TPT) which makes it super smooth for raps and minimizes drag on your pro. Our friend, Randy W from the Subaru Adventure Team, calls the Pinnacle Yellow Jacket the “buttery snake” due to its superior handling. It is one of the best ropes available on the market today!
