SRK
The SRK (Snow Rescue Kit) system allows to create an emergency stretcher on skis for those cases in which an organized rescue service cannot be used. Using a pair of skis, usually the injured person's skis, the three parts that make up the steel support frame are connected, and by means of two pairs of sticks held in place with special elastic cords, the frame takes the defined shape. The textile stretcher is fixed on the frame with special straps. A bulkhead is inserted on the front that avoids the accumulation of snow under the stretcher thus obtained and helps in its direction. The injured person is held in position thanks to three straps with automatic buckles. The kit, that weighs 5.3 kg., is contained in a backpack for storage and transport but, in case of need, it can be easily divided and distributed to more people.
